High RCT

High RCT kraft paper is often favored for its lower environmental impact compared to other packaging materials. It is biodegradable, compostable, and can be recycled multiple times. The kraft process itself is designed to be energy-efficient and to minimize waste, with many mills using recovered chemicals and by-products for energy production.

Characteristics

  • High Strength

The primary feature of high RCT kraft paper is its superior strength. This strength is measured by the Ring Crush Test, which assesses the paper’s resistance to crushing when subjected to a compressive force. High RCT values indicate that the paper can withstand more pressure, making it ideal for heavy-duty packaging.

  • Durability

High RCT kraft paper is known for its durability. It can endure rough handling during shipping and storage, ensuring that the packaged goods remain protected.

  • Tear Resistance

This type of paper also exhibits high tear resistance, making it less likely to rip or puncture during the packaging process or transit.

  • Recyclability

Kraft paper, in general, is made from wood pulp and is fully recyclable. High RCT kraft paper is no exception, making it an environmentally friendly choice for packaging.

Application

  • Corrugated Boxes

One of the most common uses of high RCT kraft paper is in the production of corrugated boxes. These boxes require strong linerboards to maintain their shape and protect the contents inside.

  • Protective Packaging

It is also used in various protective packaging applications, such as wrapping fragile items, interleaving layers in stacked products, and as void-fill material to prevent movement during shipping.

  • Industrial Packaging

High RCT kraft paper is often used in industrial packaging to protect heavy machinery parts, construction materials, and other large items that require robust packaging solutions.

  • Agricultural Products

It is used in packaging agricultural products like fruits and vegetables, where the packaging needs to be strong enough to handle weight and rough handling but also breathable to prevent spoilage.
